Equine Virtual Tele-Triage Services Agreement

1. Nature of Service (No VCPR Established)

By purchasing and initiating this 20-minute on-demand virtual consultation, you acknowledge that no Veterinarian-Client-Patient Relationship (VCPR) is being established. Because a physical, hands-on examination of your horse is not possible through a video or phone call, this service is strictly limited to assessment, emergency triage, and general advice and educational guidance.

2. Legal Boundaries & Prohibitions

In accordance with veterinary licensing regulations, the consulting veterinarian cannot:

  • Provide an official medical diagnosis.
  • Prescribe or dispense medications.
  • Issue a formal prognosis or long-term treatment plan.

The guidance provided during this session is intended to help you determine the severity of your horse’s condition, and whether an in-person emergency veterinary examination is immediately required.

3. Emergency Acknowledgment

This service is not a replacement for local emergency veterinary care. If your horse is experiencing a life-threatening emergency, extreme distress, severe hemorrhaging, or an inability to stand, you should immediately contact your local ambulatory equine veterinarian or transport your horse to a regional equine hospital. Do not delay physical emergency care while waiting for or participating in a virtual triage call.

4. Fees, Time Limits, and Billing

The flat fee covers a maximum of 20 minutes of consultation time. Any extended time beyond the initial 20 minutes will be charged at $10.00 per 5-minute block. Fees are charged for the veterinarian’s time and professional advice; no refunds will be issued based on the outcome of the consultation or if an in-person emergency vet is ultimately required.

Call Rates

  • Daytime Call (6:00 AM – 5:00 PM): $65.00 for up to 20 minutes
  • After-Hours Call (5:00 PM – 6:00 AM): $85.00 for up to 20 minutes

Overtime Rate

  • Additional Time: $10.00 per every 5 minutes (for calls exceeding 20 minutes)

5. Limitation of Liability

You agree to assume all risks associated with implementing any general advice or guidance discussed during this triage call. You hereby release, waive and hold harmless Clarina Equine from any and all liability, claims, or damages resulting from the horse’s condition, injuries or outcome following this call.
